Betting platform Betway has added another major team to its sponsorship roster, today announcing a “six-figure agreement” with Dota 2 team PSG.LGD , according to a release. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed at the time of writing.
The deal will see Betway branding added to the players’ jerseys and jackets, plus the players will create content for the company. Betway sponsors such teams as Ninjas in Pyjamas , BIG , MIBR , and Invictus Gaming , as well as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournaments such as Intel Extreme Masters, the ESL Pro League, and the BLAST Pro Series .
PSG.LGD was formed in April 2018 as a partnership between PSG Esports , the esports arm of French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain, and Chinese team LGD Gaming. The team was the runner-up at The International 2018, Dota 2‘s de facto World Championship, and netted more than $4M USD for the finish.
“Having already had plenty of success with sponsorship in esports already, we are very excited to have signed a new partnership with PSG.LGD,” said Betway CEO Anthony Werkman, in a release. “Betway has always aimed to be at the forefront of the esports movement, and we look forward to partnering yet another major player in the space.”

Additionally, Finnish esports organization ENCE today announced a partnership with Veikkaus, Finland’s government-owned national betting agency. Veikkaus will be a “main sponsor” of the team, according to a release.
“ENCE is a team of Finnish esports athletes, which has reached the [world’s] top level with purely Finnish blue-and-white efforts,” said ENCE CEO Mika Kuusisto, in a release. “We find it fantastic that we get to promote esports with Veikkaus, known for their strong Finnish values. That’s why we are especially excited about this cooperation contract.”
ENCE competes in such games as CS:GO, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS , StarCraft II, and Hearthstone , and has recently seen a rise in popularity thanks to its CS:GO team’s lower-bracket run into the grand finals of the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2019 Major.
