The HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas Minor is the first minor of four minor events that will take place throughout the 2019 season of Rainbow Six Siege’s esports circuit. Two other minors have been announced at the time of writing, with DreamHack Valencia in July and DreamHack Montreal in September. The fourth and final event in the minor circuit is yet to be announced.

16 teams will head to Las Vegas to compete, 12 of which coming from either the Pro League of Challenger League. The remaining spots will be occupied by teams that make it through an online qualifying round over May 11-12th.

Ubisoft announced that it had revised its revenue-sharing pilot program just last month. Between June this year and May 2020, up to 16 teams will be supported in the second phase of the program by receiving 30 percent of the net revenue generated by branded in-game items.

Esports Insider says: Allied Esports has done a good job of branding its flagship arena and making it accessible, so now’s the perfect time to start filling it with great tournaments. Rainbow Six Siege has a host of solid events throughout the year so it’ll be interesting to see how the first minor of 2019 stacks up to the rest.
