Portland Trail Blazers player and avid Twitch streamer Meyers Leonard announced that he has officially invested in FaZe Clan

Leonard has expressed support for the esports team previously by watching their streams and has been seen wearing a Brendan “Jaomock” O’Brien FaZe Clan jersey.“It is with great pleasure and excitement that I officially announce my investment into FaZe Clan,” Leonard posted on LinkedIn. “For anybody that knows me, you know I am an obsessive gamer. “I make it a point not to invest in something unless I am incredibly passionate about it and I believe I can authentically impact the business. This investment into FaZe Clan not only represents a belief in the organization but a belief in the long-term potential of #gaming and #esports.”
Leonard wore custom sneakers bearing the FaZe Clan logo and his Twitch handle during a televised NBA game on April 9.
“I’m always looking for innovating ways to cut through the noise,” he said of the sneakers in his LinkedIn post.
Leonard held a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Thursday, at which time he spoke briefly about how he first became interested in FaZe.
“Loved watching their guys stream (Tfue, Cloaksy, Jaomock),” wrote Leonard. “I recently invested in FaZe and will be doing content creation etc with them this summer! Really excited for what lies ahead!”
FaZe Clan did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
