Italian luxury brand Gucci has released a dive watch in collaboration with esports team organization Fnatic. The item features the Fnatic logo, a bezel and indexes with the team’s black and orange color scheme, and the Gucci “GG” logo, which the company noted also stands for “good game” in video games.
Only 100 individual timepieces will be made available, sold exclusively online for £1,150 ($1,430 USD). A promotional video was released featuring the five players from Fnatic’s League of Legends European Championship team, and Gucci has also developed a game for its app to release on the “Gucci Arcade,” in which players dive into an underwater cave in a submarine bearing the Fnatic logo.
On top of team-gear, Fnatic offers seasonal collections of its own apparel. The company has previously co-launched items with other fashion brands, including Champion and Hello Kitty.
Gucci’s entry into esports follows that of luxury brand Louis Vuitton, which partnered with Riot Games to release a set of in-game items for the 2019 League of Legends World Championship, while also designing the tournament’s trophy case.
