Leading North American World of Warcraft guild Complexity-Limit has announced a partnership with the U.S. Army National Guard in the leadup to its participation in Activision Blizzard’s Mythic Dungeon International (MDI). The Army National Guard will collaborate with the guild on content and engagement opportunities, following Complexity-Limit’s MDI team in its journey to the finals event in July. These activations as well as various streaming engagements with Guard soldiers will take place under the heading “Road to MDI.”
World of Warcraft is unique among major esports in that there are three distinct forms of competition at the highest level for the game. The MDI is one of two competitions (the Arena World Championship being the second) actively supported by Activision Blizzard and offers a $300K USD prize pool.
In addition to the publisher’s efforts, the arguably more popular competitive offering for WoW is the Race to World First – an event that takes place when new challenges are added to the game wherein larger teams, called guilds, compete to clear out new content as fast as possible. Complexity-Limit was the winner of the most recent Race, broadcasting their progress live from Complexity’s GameStop Performance Center in Frisco, Texas.
It was ahead of this race that Limit partnered with esports organization Complexity, taking on the name Complexity-Limit at that time.
