DreamHack has announced that its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition DreamHack Masters, which was scheduled to take place live in Jönköping, Sweden, has been moved to an online format due to concerns related to the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The event will run from May 19 to June 14, with qualifiers starting in mid-April.
Like most restructured tournament series, stay-at-home orders and self-quarantines have led to the formation of region-based leagues in place of a standard qualifier-to-international-tournament system. DreamHack Masters will divide its $300K USD prize pool among four regional leagues – Europe ($160K), North America ($100K), Asia ($20K), and Oceania ($20K).
