The United States Marine Corps is recognizing excellence in the classroom through a new partnership with Esports Stadium Arlington. In a program announced early Tuesday, High school and college students who earn A’s on their report cards are eligible to receive one free hour of gameplay per qualifying grade at Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas. All this is thanks to partnership deal with the United States Marine Corps.
The Marine Corps Academic Excellence Program begins Jan. 17, 2020, and will run through April 17, 2020. To redeem the free gameplay, students need to provide a copy of their report card to Esports Arlington staff upon registering for gaming play.
The U.S. Armed Forces are making a push into esports; most recently, the U.S. Navy announced plans to shift its advertising budget from television and cable to digital platforms. The esports age demographic, where there is a preponderance of males between the ages of 17 and 28, is considered a prime pool of potential recruits.
