Complexity Gaming has announced a partnership with Herman Miller, naming the “premium professional furniture maker” its official seating partner.
With the partnership, Herman Miller is now the title sponsor of the Herman Miller Innovation Lab at Complexity Gaming’s GameStop Performance Center headquarters in Frisco, Texas. Herman Miller chairs and desks are already installed in the facility.
The company will use the space to learn more about the ergonomic needs of professional gamers and encourage healthy habits. According to a release, the companies aim to develop esports player-centric furniture built to their particular needs. The companies will also collaborate on content regarding injury prevention and healthy gaming techniques.
“At Herman Miller, we have a robust history of ergonomic research and human-centered design, which we’re excited to apply to the esports community. As our first foray into esports, we are applying our research capabilities in the Herman Miller Innovation Lab to study alongside some of the best players and trainers in the industry to understand how our designs can address the points of struggle,” said Herman Miller VP of Global Seating, Diane Turnwall, in a release. “The partnership is not only mutually beneficial to our respective companies, but also casts wide-bearing advantages for gamers around the world.”
The GameStop Performance Center opened in May following the team’s rebranding to more closely match its sister company, the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. The facility also features areas created in partnership with MillerCoors’ Bud Light brand and Mamba Sports Academy/HyperX, respectively, and has played host to events for the U.S. Army along with other activations.
