Rick Fox reaches settlement agreement with Vision Esports

Rick Fox has come to a private settlement agreement with Echo Fox shareholder Vision Esports, as reported by Newsweek.

The agreement results in lawsuits filed by both Fox and Vision Esports being dropped, leaving Fox to pursue other opportunities in the industry. He will launch Twin Galaxies International with Jace Hall.

Victory Five raises over £11M in Series A round

Chinese organisation Victory Five has closed its Series A round, raising over 100M RMB (£11 million).

The organisation has also partnered with Shenzhen Media Group to launch its LPL home venue in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Dallas Empire announced as Envy’s Call of Duty League franchise

Envy Gaming unveiled Dallas Empire as its franchise for the Call of Duty League.

The branding derives from the lyrics “O Empire wide and glorious, you stand supremely blest” and is said to also embody “the legacy that its parent organization Envy has built since entering the competitive Call of Duty scene in 2007.” The primary colours of the Dallas Empire are black and gold, with blue as its secondary colour.

New York Subliners confirmed for Call of Duty League

Andbox’s franchise New York Subliners was announced for the Call of Duty League.

Its primary colours are yellow and navy blue, with the logo symbolizing “a weapon and a provocation; a crosshair and a moving target.”

Los Angeles Guerrillas introduced for Call of Duty League

Los Angeles Guerrillas was confirmed as Kroenke Sports & Entertainment’s Call of Duty League franchise.

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment just bolstered its esports team with the hires of Alex Rubens and Ryan Garfat. As well as owning Overwatch League franchise Los Angeles Gladiators, it attempted to enter Riot Games’ LCS by buying Echo Fox’s spot.

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles announced for Call of Duty League

Immortals Gaming Club confirmed it would be represented by OpTic Gaming Los Angeles in the Call of Duty League.

OpTic Gaming has had many dominant rosters over its tenure in Call of Duty, and remained the most popular brand in the series throughout.

Toronto Ultra confirmed for Call of Duty League

OverActive Media unveiled its Call of Duty League franchise as Toronto Ultra.

As explained in Esports Insider’s interview with Chris Overholt, CEO of OverActive Media, the Toronto Ultra logo features a squirrel as “in the West End of the [Toronto], there’s a beautiful park right in the middle of the city called Trinity-Bellwoods. It has, over the years, been home to a family of albino squirrels.”
