Esports event organizers, PGL have announced that the final major of the DPC Season 2021-22 will be held in Arlington, Texas at the Esports Stadium Arlington. This will be the first Dota 2 Major being hosted by a North American state, the likes of which we last saw during the Boston Major which was hosted back in 2016 and won by OG Esports.

The Arlington Major marks the end of the 60year drought of a Majorless era most notably thwarted by the Coronavirus Pandemic which forced every organizer to push their events to a remote online mode. With the return of LAN events, the recently concluded ESL One Stockholm Major was indeed a blast that saw OG Esports yet again take it home and add it to their trophy cabinet. The Major in Arlington will help teams earn a set of circuit points towards the qualification of the Marquee tournament, The International.

DOTA 2 has a lot of fans in the US, and Arlington has a perfect location for tournaments of this caliber: Esports Stadium. We are fortunate to be back in North America with another Major after Boston. We love to run events in the USA, and we have wonderful memories from 2016: it was a great tournament, and the fans were fantastic. Having a tremendous tournament with DOTA 2 enthusiasts in the stands after a long time will be great!

Silviu Stroie, CEO PGL

The Arlington Major starts on August 4 and runs till the 14th.
