The team of pgod, PaMstou and Baltimore Ravens’ wide receive Marquise Brown shocked the world and won the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl III.
Fortnite Battle Royale returned to an offline environment for the first time in several years for the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl III. Sporting a $1M USD prize pool for charity, 20 Trios featuring a Twitch content creator, NFL superstar and a community champion embarked on a four-game quest to accumulate as many points as possible based on placement and eliminations.
Two-time Streamer Bowl Champions — Cody “NRG Clix” Conrod and Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen — came in as heavy favorites. Clix selected three-time Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) winner Muz in a draft before the competition, making this team even more dangerous than before.
Other notable names such as 2019 Fortnite World Champion Kyle “SEN Bugha” Giersdorf, two-time FNCS Champ Dejsean “Deyy” Hew, Nick “NickEh30” Amyoony, Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff and more looked to thwart the Clix’s three-peat. All participants brought the heat, but only one Trio could claim the Streamer Bowl III Championship.

Fortnite’s return to LAN had everything that viewers could hope to see. Many talented players showcased their abilities in front of well over 100K viewers across all partnered streams and the primary broadcast. Nate Hill, Christian McCaffrey and Sprite dominated height to claim the first Victory Royale of the day. After that, two teams separated from the pack and became the front-runners.
In game two, G2 Esports player Jelty led teammates FS Joji and Dallas Cowboys running back JaQuan Hardy to the winner’s circle. An impressive performance saw the team known as Mochis York compile five eliminations and a Victory Royale. Jelty, JaQuan Hardy, and Joji sat comfortably in second with two matches down. However, Los Capos were unwilling to let Jelty and company run away with the victory.

Pgod, PaMstou and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown exemplified dominance in games three and four. The team – dubbed Los Capos – maintained the height advantage in the third match and rode that into a smooth Victory Royale. A handful of teams were in contention heading into the final game. It looked grim for Los Capos early, as pgod and Marquise Brown fell early. That situation left FNCS All-Star Showdown Champion PaMstou all alone.

PaMstou played patiently, hiding in a bush and grabbing his teammates’ Reboot Cards and successfully bringing both back into the game. From there, Los Capos gained the high ground once again and earned their second consecutive Victory Royale. Despite a valiant effort from Jelty–pgod, Marquise Brown and PaMstou secured the Streamer Bowl III Championship with 161 points and $300K USD to a charity of their choice.

Fortnite OG NICKMERCS provided a blast from the past in games three and four, where he, Tampa Bay Bucaneers wide receiver Mike Evans and Kruyorr claimed Tilted Towers like the old days. Team MFAM took out friendly rival Aydan and the two-time Streamer Bowl Champion Clix in perhaps the tournament’s most exciting moment. NICKMERCS, Mike Evans and Kruyorr ultimately finished fifth on the leaderboard, which no one anticipated.

The soft-spoken Mexican player Jelty shined on the grand stage with some insane clutch eliminations. He single-handedly kept his team in the mix as the final moments ticked down in game four. Twitch awarded an MVP award via an embedded poll on the stream, which Jelty won rightfully. He earned himself a custom purple football helmet with the letters “MVP” embroidered on the side.
