As the tenth anniversary of CSGO draws near, the ongoing expectations for a big update coming to the shooter have been higher than ever. Speculations for a potential Source 2 release alongside the tenth-anniversary update have been going on for the past few months, fueled by leaks from prominent Counter-Strike personalities.
However, according to CSGO leaker Gabe Follower, the Source 2 update isn’t coming to the shooter anytime soon.

“Source 2 ain’t happening this month. Few days ago I got a confirmation that few new maps was officially accepted,” Gabe Follower said.
Luckily, fans might still have something to look forward to, as he also mentioned that “something big like an operation” can still come to the game with the tenth-anniversary update.
Valve hasn’t made an official announcement on what they have planned to celebrate the title’s tenth anniversary as of yet.

CSGO fans will now be eagerly looking forward to the tenth-anniversary update to find out what it brings to the shooter. The update is likely to hit the live servers on August 21, 2022, the day that marks ten years since the title’s release in 2012.
