VENN Signs Three-Year Cloud Video Deal With Blackbird – The Esports Observer|home of essential esports business news and insights

by Graham Ashton

VENN has agreed to a three year deal with Blackbird and its cloud video editing and publishing platform. The post-cable network which targets gaming and esports audiences will use Blackbird to remotely edit and publish video content for platforms including Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook, when it officially launches in July.

The deal was brokered by Blackbird’s US systems integrator partner, ASG, with financial terms not disclosed.

Blackbird has been used by London-based esports company Gfinity, and more recently Riot Games has been using the cloud video editing platform to produce content remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

VENN was founded in 2019 by former NBC and Riot Games producer Ariel Horn and former Vivendi executive Ben Kusin, who raised a $17M USD funding round to launch the channel. It will broadcast a mix of original programming produced in-house and in partnership with content creators and companies.
