After comprehensively studying the favourites, let’s have a look the underdogs of the competition.

Vitality

Vitality will be the most confident team heading into the competition. Since the team won the cs_summit 4 by defeating the NA giant, Team Liquid and will be aiming to continue this form in the Dreamhack.

The French structure made it’s official arrival in the competitive landscape of Counter-Strike in October 2018. The owners of the organization made it clear that they want to be amongst the best. It seems like they are well on their way to fulfil the promise.

The team didn’t had the best of lineups in the start, Yet they continued to develop and recruited some of the finest talents,  Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Nathan “NBK” Schmitt. The duop wan clinical in the team’s triumph at the DreamHack Atlanta. Yet after the the side did struggle, but in the same time managed to learn from their mistakes and showed a good fight against strong teams. In the last three competitions, the team has produced incredible results: They won the title of Charleroi Esports 2019 and the side reigned supreme in the qualifiers of ESL One Cologne and secured spot for the finals in Germany. Lastly they demolished Liquid 2-0 in the grand finale of cs_summit 4.

After studying the team, we believe that the side is possibly the strongest contender before the start of the competition. Yet we are putting them in the list of underdogs, since they are yet to show their worth by displaying some consistent results against the best teams.

Furia takes aim

We know that Furia is not amongst the best team at the moment yet their recent results have forced us to label them as the dark horses.

The Brazilian side has been rising in the globale ranks of CS. The team displayed some interesting results at the IEM Katowice Major and beat some of the strongest opponents. Recently the side finished at 2nd place in the DreamHack Open Rio de Janeiro. They also qualified for ESL One Cologne by beating Ghost Gaming. Owing to their success, some analysts are rating Furia as the “next MIBR”.

The team has a solid reputation for displaying remarkable performances. The team pushes it way into the game by spamming smoke and molotovs. This puts a lot of pressure on their opponents and some of them get completely outplayed. They might not be the favourites to lift the title, yet we bid them to cause upsets in the tournament.

These sides will compete some of the best in the group stage later today on May 29th. Meanwhile the LAN finals will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas on May 31. If you are not in Dallas, then you catch all the action Twitch. The team will compete for the lion’s share of th $250,000 USD prize pool.
