ESL Pro League Season 11

Norwegian free-to-air television channel TV 2 Norway has announced separate broadcasting deals with two Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition properties: the ESL Pro Tour, and BLAST Premier. Both deals encompass the exclusive Norwegian national television and online rights, with financial terms undisclosed.

The ESL Pro Tour, which gathers over 20 ESL and DreamHack tournaments and leagues under one circuit, will be broadcasted on both national television and TV 2 Norway’s own streaming platform. The matches will be broadcasted in Norwegian with local production/studio and Norwegian commentators. The broadcasts have already begun with the ESL Pro League season 11, and will continue on until the March 2021 Masters tournament.

BLAST Premier, which runs a series of Spring and Fall competitions, leading to a Global Final, will have its entire 2020 season shown on TV 2 Norway. The licensing deal was arranged by Lagardère Sports, with TV 2 Norway joining DAZN, TV2 Denmark, RTP, and ES1 among other broadcast partners of the competition.

In addition, TV 2 Norway also stated it would send two Norwegian teams to take part in the Elisa Invitational, a BLAST Premier Qualifier in Finland, on May 1-3. However, the Finnish government has banned events with crowds larger than 500 people, in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The ESL Pro League, part of the ESL Pro Tour, has moved all league operations out of studio to remote online-play. The BLAST Premier’s next event is the Spring Showdown, beginning June 2, which has not yet been canceled, postponed, or moved to remote online-play.
