The Queen of esports viewers is still League of Legends.

According to the Esports Charts, during the semi-finals of the championship between the LCK’s T1 and Europe’s G 2 Esports the LoL World Championship had a staggering 3.9 million participants. This mirrored the Fortnite World Cup Finals, which had 2.3 million second-highest attendees at its height. The sixth in Rio de Janeiro with two million total audiences was the Free Fire World Series.

Worlds 2019 was also unprecedented based on hours witnessed — the tournament has risen 66 percent from last year, rising from 83 million to 137 million observed hours in incredible figures. Third was the International with 88 million hours, and 53 million hours watched by CS: GO’s IEM Katowice Arena.

Average viewership was not the one category that League took, and the Free Fire World Series instead won. By contrast to the Fortnite World Cup, this competition had 1,2 million total spectators and in 2019 Worlds, there was average spectators of 1 million.

T he This year represents another fantastic year for League with several major teams making major adjustments on the roster that could lead to a shift in the power balance across the global rankings. There are so many different storeys in different regions to be pursued, and it would not be disappointing to see League break more records in 2020.
