The Final Clash of the Samsung Civil War

by devaccess

Whether you’re a pro or an amateur, there’s one goal that every competitor shares.

The allure of absolutely redefining your game, breaking the mould when it matters most and overcoming all odds to vanquish your greatest foe.

There’s just no better way to win than to break the game.

It’s in those moments that legends are born. And that was the way Samsung White finally vanquished their biggest rivals, their sister team Samsung Blue.

SSW and SSW were great and yet I think that 2017 Samsung Galaxy will always be my favourite LCK Team of all time.

I´m convinced that SS Blue lost the 2014 semifinals on purpose just look at their picks and the dragon fight in the 2nd game with Galio toplane btw they were basically scrimming

Don't let this video distract you from the fact that RNG lost to G2 when they were supposed to win it all

It’s insane when you realize what Deft won over all those years. He won OGN in 2014, a couple of LPL titles in the next 2 years, MSI, then 2018 LCK. He really only needs a worlds Titel. He won multiple splits in the 2 best regions in the worlds, what this guy did is pretty impressive and people still downplay him.

As someone who closely followed the league scene in season 4, comparing Samsung White's style to the rope-a-dope is completely inaccurate. If you actually go back and watch their semi-finals in Korea, Samsung White actually won a lot of the early games. If anything Samsung Blue was the team that would rope-a-dope, since they would get pummeled early, only to outscale and out teamfight their opponent. The boxing analogy is completely awful here. If you really wanted to compare Samsung White to boxing, they would be Mike Tyson. Dominating early and finding quick knockouts.

Never understood why this teams fell apart 🙁 they were a pleasure to watch and i just wanted to see this rivalry like 2 more seasons. But instead of being the most dominant teams for years, they choose going to china and winning nothing (except Edg, they won MSI 2015)

Samsung Blue was overly obsessed with their team-fight oriented strategy when they used it to beat Samsung White twice in OGN, they should have realized that always stalling to late game and allowing mistakes in early game cannot get them far when they are beaten by KTA in OGN summer finals. Yet they are still unwilling to bend their strategy for even the slightest when they almost have to play a 5th game against C9 in quaterfinal. At the end of all, SSB's obsession with mid-late game team fights made them vunerable against SSW's early game skirmishes and vision control. Funny thing though, Heart, former support of Samsung Blue, was also the coach of RNG in 2018, and RNG also had the same kind of obsession with their bod-lane centered strategy while keep forcing Xiaohu onto utility mid laners and make his mechanics and solo-carry ability rust. At the end of all, RNG failed even harder than SSB from 4 years ago. Even if they make it to Semi-finals, their ending against IG will probably be the same as SSW vs SSB in S4 Semifinals. Both teams are examples of going against meta has no good fruit.
