Indian esports platform SoStronk’s parent company Archetype Entertainment Private Limited has announced a partnership with one of India’s largest real money gaming platforms, Mobile Premier League (MPL).

Through this partnership, MPL’s users can now compete in casual Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournaments for real money via the SoStronk desktop application. Up to 16 players can enter a tournament by paying an entry fee and will receive cash prizes depending on their position at the end of a game. At the time of writing, the minimum entry fee for a tournament is INR 20 ($0.28) and the maximum prize money is INR 300 ($4.20 USD).

The announcement also states that both companies had previously partnered for mobile game titles PUBG MOBILE and Garena Free Fire.

In April 2019, MPL raised $35.5M USD in Series A funding in a round led by Sequoia India, Times Internet, and GoVentures, and claimed to have over 25M registered users. Archetype Entertainment had a pre-Series A funding round in September 2019 in which it raised an undisclosed amount from Inflection Point Ventures (IP Ventures) that valued the company in the low six-figure USD range.
