  • Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek announced via Twitter that he will begin streaming on Microsoft’s livestreaming platform Mixer.
  • The move comes months after Tyler “Ninja” Blevins exited Twitch in favor of an exclusive deal with Mixer.
  • Shroud’s first Mixer stream will begin Thursday evening for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is leaving Twitch and joining Tyler “Ninja” Blevins on Mixer, according to an announcement on his Twitter page Thursday.

Grzesiek posted a video with the caption “Same shroud. New Home.” and a link to his new Mixer page that has a countdown on it suggesting that he will go live on the platform sometime Thursday evening, likely to stream the launch of Activision’s newest Call of Duty game.

Grzesiek is currently the second most-watched personality on Twitch this year with 60.27M hours watched, behind only Turner “Tfue” Tenney (78.71M). The third most-watched influencer this year is Zack “Asmongold” (last name unknown) with 48.92M hours watched.

The loss of Grzesiek marks the second high-profile streamer for Twitch to lose to Mixer. In July, Blevins left for Mixer and held his first stream live from Lollapalooza in Chicago. Twitch recently responded to Mixer’s move by locking up Nick “NickMercs” Kolcheff to an exclusive contract.

With both Grzesiek and Blevins gone, Twitch has lost both of its most-watched influencers from 2018, who accounted for 221.91M (Blevins) and 96.79M (Grzesiek) hours watched, respectively. This year, the two combined to produce 106M hours watched on Twitch to this point, despite Blevins leaving the platform months ago.
