Pysonix Selects DreamHack as Rocket League Championship Series Production Partner

by Trent Murray

Rocket League developer Psyonix and global gaming festival organizer DreamHack have announced a new agreement that will make DreamHack the production partner for the next season of the Rocket League Championship Series. RLCS Season X will begin this month and continue through Spring 2021.

As initially reported by The Esports Observer and confirmed by Psyonix last week, the RLCS will feature a restructured format for its next season complete with a total $4.5M USD prize pool. The competition will move away from a weekly league format to instead host standalone competitions. The season will be divided into three Splits, each with three events for North America and Europe, culminating in a Split-ending Major. The year will then be capped off by a World Championship with a $1M prize pool.

As part of this new partnership, DreamHack will produce the entirety of this series. Historically, despite its weekly league structure, Rocket League had a fairly open esports ecosystem, which has allowed DreamHack to run numerous events for the title in the past independent of the RLCS.
