Overwatch Contenders Australia Finals Joins IEM Sydney Event Schedule

  • Overwatch Contenders Australia 2019 season 1 finals will take place at IEM Sydney.
  • Contenders will not feature on the same main stage as the CS:GO tournament.
  • The Contenders season 2 finals will again take place at the Melbourne Esports Open.

For the first time, the finals for 2019 Season 1 of Overwatch Database-Link-e1521645463907 Contenders Australia will take place at Intel Extreme Masters Sydney, from May 4-5. The top four teams from the regular season will compete for $100K USD prize pool and a place in the Overwatch Pacific Showdown in China on May 24-26.

In previous years the Season 1 Overwatch Contenders final has taken place in the ESL Database-Link-e1521645463907

The Overwatch final will not share the main arena stage where the main IEM Sydney CS:GO Database-Link-e1521645463907 event will be taking place. The schedule for that stage is already quite full and does not allow for both events to take place within the available timeframes. But ticketing for IEM Sydney grants access to both events at no extra charge.

IEM Sydney takes place across three days, Friday through Sunday, with the Overwatch Contenders semi-finals taking place on the Saturday afternoon, and the Grand Final on Sunday from 12.30pm.

The Contenders Australia Season 2 final has also been confirmed to once again be featured at the 2019 Melbourne Esports Open.
