The first Major of the 2019-2020 DPC season is about to begin. Sixteen of the best teams in the world will have to fight “to the death” in order to determine which one of them will be worth of getting that insane $1,000,000.
Let’s take a look at some of the top contenders for it.
Evil Geniuses
EG has always been one of the strongest teams in the world when it comes down to Dota 2. In fact, they also had an immense amount of superstars in their rosters and the current one is no exception.
After the changes the NA team had gone through, their current roster looks very scary. Abed, Arteezy and Ramzess are among the best individual players in the world. This means that if they manage to collab together, EG will definitely be a huge pain to deal with.
The MDL Chengdu Major will be the first big challenge ahead of the NA powerhouse. So far, they’ve only played in the qualifiers for it.
Alliance
The second team that many esports betters will be interested in is Alliance. As you know, the EU team has an entirely new roster on their hand and so far, they are nearly flawless.
After winning DreamLeauge Season 12, Alliance continued to impress during ESL One Hamburg 2019. Even though they didn’t win, they still managed to get a third-place finish, which is very respectable.
Alliance are very strong, there is no doubt there. However, they are yet to prove themselves against the best teams in the world. So far, they’ve played in “less concurrent” events, which should be taken into consideration. The MDL Chengdu Major will be their first “real” test.
Vici Gaming
The Chinese powerhouse is definitely among the biggest favorites to win the MDL Chengdu Major. Needless to say, they have been one of the most stable teams in the last couple of years.
What makes Vici an awesome choice to put your money on is the fact that there are not that many “big” names here. After all, some of the best teams in the world decided to skip the first two DPC tournametns. This increases the chance for success of the others by a long shot.
The MDL Chengdu Major will have four groups, consisted of four teams. Every single series will be Bo3 until the Grand Final, which is Bo5.
