Jungling in 7.32b – What Do You Need to Know?

by Zlosterr

We go over some handy tips to help you improve your Jungling in 7.32b.

One of the unique things about Dota 2 is that the game allows you to choose from different kinds of positions. Some players are responsible for killing creeps and accumulating gold, whereas others have the task of helping others. Speaking of the devil, there is one position that is even more special because it can do both.

Being a good jungler in Dota 2 is one of the hardest things in the game. This also applies to League of Legends, but unlike it, Dota 2 is a little bit more complicated. For starters, there are only a couple of heroes that can actually take on this role. Despite that, many people pick all sorts of heroes and go jungle simply because they want to farm instead of supporting their teammates.

Needless to say, this article won’t focus on those kinds of players because they usually ruin the fun for others. Instead, it will provide you with all of the needed information if you decide to start jungling in patch 7.32b. Let’s dive in.

Choosing the right hero for the job

Being a jungler in Dota 2 is not easy, to say the least. Not every hero is suitable for this role, so you need to know what you’re doing to succeed. What’s more, there are some situations where you do not need to have a jungler because your opponents have heroes that can easily push and stomp your lanes.

Assuming you are not in such a position, you need to know which heroes to get. This is where it gets interesting because there are several popular options to choose from.

Chen

The most popular jungler in the professional Dota 2 scene is Chen. This is one of the few heroes that people actually use regularly because he allows them to push, gank, and help lanes when needed.

Chen has always been one of the best junglers in the game and is often picked as a position four. What makes him so good is that he can get neutral creeps that allow him to use their abilities. In other words, he is one of the best heroes for ganking and pushing. On top of that, the hero can heal his allies and do a lot of damage for support, something that makes him even more valuable.

Sadly, Chen is not one of the popular junglers in PUBs because most people focus on heroes that can transition into cores. For example, you can find things like Legion Commander much more often.

Enchantress

The second hero on the list that is also great for jungling is Enchantress. The latter is similar to Chen in many ways because she can also control some of the Neutral Creeps. However, Enchantress does not have the same gank and push potential because she is mostly focused on doing damage. In other words, the hero is great for ganking, especially during the early game.

Another thing that distinguishes her from Chen is that she is pretty popular in pubs. Although some players do not always go to the jungler, they pick her because of his insane damage output. Enchantress can easily nuke her targets, but her low base HP makes her an easy target.

Enigma

The last hero that some teams and players use in the jungle more often than others is Enigma. Although this hero was one of the top-tier offlaners, many people used it in the wilderness because Enigma could farm much faster. The hero isn’t that useful early on, but once it gets to level 6, Enigma gets one of the deadliest ultimates in the game.

Black Hole has won tons of games over the years, and it is one of the most important ultimates in Dota 2. When used, it deals damage and completely disables enemy units throughout its duration.

Other heroes

Aside from those mentioned above, some teams and players use other Dota 2 heroes in the jungle. For example, you can often find things like Legion Commander, Nature’s Prophet, Bloodseeker, and even Lycan. Although getting such a hero for this position means that the team will have one extra core, it is usually not worth it.

Since these heroes need to farm, they take too much space by not helping others. As a result, the enemies can easily stomp the lanes and accumulate a big lead for the mid-game. This is usually enough to lose.

Roaming and Pushing

One of the main things you must do in Dota 2 patch 7.32b, or any other for that matter, is to roam and push. Junglers that do not do this usually fail because they don’t take advantage of their role.

As mentioned, ganking with such a hero is usually easy, but it all depends on the hero you get. Some of them are better than others, but you should be able to score at least a couple of kills no matter what you go for.

In terms of pushing, only a few heroes will work because they need to have creeps or use an ability that allows them to destroy towers. Aside from Chen and Enchantress, Furion and Enigma can also be excellent pushers.

Transitioning in the mid game

As you know, every position in Dota 2 is important, but this is only true during the laning stage. Once this is over, heroes have different jobs because they need to help their teammates win the game. Junglers are not an exception, and most of them usually turn out to be position 4 supports. In other words, they will have to buy wards and other kinds of utility items.

As mentioned earlier, some players abuse this position and pick core heroes. If that’s the case, they have to get different kinds of items and focus on doing damage. Believe it or not, there are situations where this might work, so keep an eye on your opponents’ heroes before you decide which hero to get.
