Is Fortnite the new H1Z1? – esportsjunkie

by Shehryar Raza

One of the most controversial streamers just loves the spotlight. Recently in his stream, Tyler Ninja Blevins expressed concern that the developers of Fortnite are adopting the path of H1Z1. H1Z1 was once considered the most successful title of the “royal battle” genre. Yet, it lost most of the audience due to the “arrogance” of developers of the Daybreak Game Company. According to Blevins, the developers of Epic Games are following their footsteps.

Ninja believes that the developers of Fortnite are too much involved in themselves. He suggests that the game still has a lot of bugs that require attention. He ended his statement by saying that the developers should be cautious or else Fortnite could suffer the same fate as H1Z1.

Ninja holds decent experience when it comes to H1Z1, as he used to play it on a professional level. He competed for Luminosity Game and won the first official DGC shooter tournament.

Ninja is making a habit of criticizing Epic Games for almost every update. In patch 8.20, Epic removed some of the mechanics that were cherished by the community. Top streamers and pro player were particularly affected since a fair share of their livelihood depends on the game. After the update, the new format became boring, and many stopped playing it. In protest, Ninja and other popular streamers began to broadcast on UNO and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Mortal Kombat Targets Fortnite

Combat classic Mortal Kombat will be releasing its 11th installment in a matter of days. The developers are focused on its promotion and have recently targeted Fortnite.

What does the advertisement show?

There you will first see a figure that is reminiscent of the style of Fortnite and in the background, you can see the classic scenery of the Battle Royale game. A few seconds later, the fighter “Scorpion” comes into the picture and takes the figure out of the picture. Afterward, he says “Battle Brutal instead of Battle Royale”. This is probably a clear message to the Fortnite players. The developer of MK is pushing the Fortnite community to try the new Mortal Kombat, instead of the popular Battle Royale shooter.

Another Instagram Ad from r/MortalKombat

Mortal Kombat is a classic among the fighting games and is quite the opposite of Fortnite. The game is known for being particularly “graphic content” since so much blood and violence is promoted by the game.

Fortnite, however, is more child-friendly. You do not see blood or other brutal elements in the game. Generally, it is comic-style and takes place in a colorful world. This is quite different from Mortal Kombat.

Why is Mortal Kombat switching such ads?

The 11th installment of the series will be released on April 23rd. The developers would like to stir the advertising drum again before the game appears on the market. It’s only logical that they are targeting Fortnite, which currently influences millions of players.
