HTC Sponsors FaZe Clan, Renews Deal with Team SoloMid

  • HTC has signed a sponsorship deal with FaZe Clan, and is also continuing its partnership with Team SoloMid (TSM).
  • The company’s HTC Esports division has been renamed HTC Gaming to reflect its expanding gaming initiatives.
  • HTC will host a Vive Summit live stream on April 10 to showcase VR games for its Vive headset. Both FaZe Clan and TSM players will appear.

Hardware maker HTC Database-Link-e1521645463907 has announced a new sponsorship deal with FaZe Clan Database-Link-e1521645463907, and has also extended its partnership with Team SoloMid Database-Link-e1521645463907 (TSM).

The deal with FaZe Clan was brokered by United Talent Agency. With the addition of FaZe Clan, the smartphone and VR headset maker has renamed its HTC Esports division, which will now be known as HTC Gaming going forward.

“VR is an exciting part of the next frontier in gaming, and FaZe Clan couldn’t be more excited to kick off a partnership with HTC as leaders in this space,” said FaZe Clan CEO Lee Trink in a release. “We look forward to creating a compelling partnership and welcome HTC as a new sponsor.”

HTC and Team SoloMid have been partners since 2015. According to the release, HTC sees an opportunity to showcase its Vive VR headset through partnerships with streamers. On April 10, the company will host a Vive Summit live stream, which will showcase VR games and feature members of both FaZe Clan and TSM. Streamer Alexia Raye will host the event.

“HTC Esports will be expanding its brand to encompass all aspects of gaming,” said Andrew Wu, HTC’s partner marketing manager for gaming, in a release. “Gaming, to us, is a larger umbrella that includes esports. With our team working with more and more gaming influencers, especially on Twitch Database-Link-e1521645463907 and YouTube platforms, we’re excited to work together with TSM and FaZe Clan’s amazing members to bring VR into the spotlight.”
