What started off as a game development operation, spearheaded by two former Microsoft employees, has grown into an immense conglomerate of games, esports tournaments, and digital content sales.
And yet despite all this, not much is known about the company.
But what has remained crystal clear throughout the years is that Valve is one of the most important, and lucrative, gaming companies in the world. This is its story.

There used to be so much talk about valve in the golden era of gaming. After, when they entered the dark ages of no more games it was all memes of the Messiah returning then after 2015 it seems no one talked about gaben or valve (except esports)and many just made fun of it, almost like the golden era never existed. I'm glad they are becoming relevant again. They are my favorite gaming company and hope they get a second revolution in gaming.
Valve does not have to make new games. With steam and their fair share of microtransaction, they make so much money each month, even a half life 3 could not compete with that – not even close.

Valve is only just a little higher than EA or ActiBlizz and if they bow to China (if they already haven't) then I have lost faith in all AAA gaming companies. TF2 alone is one of the deepest games ever made and still has 50k players daily yet Valve officially just abandoned it.
Don't say their legacy is secured; only a couple years ago everyone still loved Blizzard.

I'm millenial and only know unity and UE as a game engine. So is there a reason valve can't use those to made the left 4 dead 3? I mean canceling development because they fail to build the engine is so sad.
