Fanatec and World Rally Championships (WRC) enters multi-year partnership

The WRC has been working for many years with Fanatec, the maker of simulation racing equipment.

The collaboration would make the manufacturer an official partner for all the World Rally Championship esports activities.

The WRC esports Invitational event that took place in Monaco in January already provided Fanatec with the hardware for each other in 2020. Fanatec continues to be a sponsor of the #RaceAtHome WRC Weekly Challenge in WRC events as well.

Also called Fanatec’s WRC Weekly Challenge, the series gives computer racers the opportunity to compete on many occasions in the World Rally Championships.

Fanatec has joined Playseat, BenQ, BigBen Interactive, Nacon and KT Kylotonn creators of WRC8 and is now the 6th member of the eSports WRC Championships.

Oliver Ciesla, WRC Promoter’s Managing director, made the comment about the partnership in a release that reads: “We welcome Fanatec to the Championship’s expansive portfolio of premium partners and we are delighted to see Fanatec’s enthusiasm and commitment to creating custom-made products for WRC sim racers.”

“It offers our existing fans and young players with a way to retain their WRC ‘fix’ and we are glad that Fanatec has chosen to support this mission.”
