eUnited has announced that RESPAWN, a new energy drink mix developed by hardware maker Razer , is the team’s latest sponsor.
RESPAWN will sponsor an upcoming eUnited content series, and the companies are also planning activations around the organization’s teams and content creators. eUnited currently competes in Call of Duty , Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS , Super Smash Bros. , and SMITE .
“We are super excited to bring RESPAWN into the fold here at eUnited. We are very selective and particular when it comes to product sponsorships, but RESPAWN and the Razer team have crossed every T and dotted every I when it comes to their new product,” said eUnited media director John DeHart, in a release. “You can expect to see some really cool activations between eUnited and RESPAWN in the coming months, involving both our professional players and content creators!”
RESPAWN began life as an April Fool’s gag in 2010, when Razer jokingly announced a “Project Venom” energy drink. According to a release, the joke’s popularity convinced Razer to investigate the actual possibilities of creating a gamer-focused energy drink to stimulate mental focus without a physical crash. An upcoming Razer-branded toaster has a similar origin story.

Razer tested RESPAWN’s effects and taste with the eUnited team, as well as steamers such as “NICKMERCS,” “SypherPK,” and “imaqtpie.” RESPAWN has since been spun off into a separate corporate entity that remains associated with Razer, and the product is available as of this week. It competes with other energy drink mix brands such as G FUEL and Sneak Energy , both of which sponsor other esports teams.
eUnited is also sponsored by Astro Gaming , apparel brand Ultimate, and streaming hardware maker Elgato Gaming .
