DreamHack Showdown offers a $100K prize pool and will take place during DreamHack Valencia on July 5-7.

The large-scale collaboration, which DreamHack calls the first of its kind, is intended to elevate CS:GO players and provide equal access to competitive support for women in the industry. It is also intended to provide guidance and inspiration.

We believe in an esports ecosystem where every gamer can embark on a path to become a competitive gamer in an inclusive environment,” Katherine Amoukhteh, vice president of global marketing for Esport-Management told The Esports Observer. “Seeing all women fully integrated and represented in current major leagues and teams is definitely a part of that vision. In order to reach this vision, we have to start with initiatives that, above all, provide a platform, support, and visibility to all women players.

“Right now, we’re focused on getting this product off the ground and making it an inaugural success. We’re confident that with good reception and positive reactions, there will be more that we can offer all women esports CS:GO players.”

In December, DreamHack named ZOWIE the official monitor partner for DreamHack Mumbai. Esport Management will sponsor multiple DreamHack events in 2019.
