Dota 2’s population is slowly fading away

by devaccess

2019 was an amazing year for every Dota 2 fan out there. Regardless if you like OG or not, they definitely re-wrote the history of the game. After all, winning TI two times in a row is a remarkable event.

Unfortunately, the game itself is not doing too good in terms of its player count. Instead of rising up, the population in Dota 2 is decreasing witch each mant. In fact, December of 2019 was its lowest point since 2014, which is actually very scary.

Probably the main problem that Dota 2 currently has is with the new matchmaking. Although many people like it, there are also many players that don’t want to play at all. We personally believe that the changes are for the better but it seems like people don’t believe they are

There are many things that can go wrong when there aren’t many people in the game. For instance, the people who create the cosmetic items might give up. As you know, the revenue they make is entirely from the items they sell, which is related to the players’ count.

However, the worst case scenario that can happen is for Dota 2 to die. Even though it might seem impossible at this point, it is something to keep in mind. Needless to say, this is the last thing that every Dota 2 fan wants.
