Through a Twitter thread, Counter-Strike Professional Players’ Association (CSPPA) has revealed the amended dates for summer break and winter break for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professionals. The breaks usually last for about a month wherein the players can take a break or practice prior to the commencement of upcoming season.

In consultation with multiple tournament organizers – ESL, Flashpoint, StarLadder and DreamHack, the CSPPA has decided to revamp the season breaks.

Earlier in April, a report surfaced revealing about the talks between CSPPA and tournament organizers about changing the summer break to June 29 – July 31. The summer break was initially scheduled for July 15 to August 15. Although, it has been preponed for 9 days.

However, the revamped dates are as follows:-

  • Summer Break: July 06, 2020 – August 6, 2020
  • Winter Break: December 21, 2020 – January 17, 2021

The summer break dates were revised after a request was made by tournament organizers amid the coronavirus pandemic and succeeding travel bans and lockdown. On the other hand, the winter break is extended until mid-January to facilitate people who celebrate Orthodox Christmas.
