BLAST enters Apex Legends with Europe-focused event – ARCHIVE

Tournament operator BLAST will bring together 40 Apex Legends teams from across Europe next month for its first foray into the Apex Legends esports ecosystem. BLAST Titans will award a €40K ($47.8K USD) prize pool.

Apex Legends has been on the rise within esports this year. EA recently reported that the game had surpassed 100 million players and seen growth in its esports viewership, with the Apex Legends Global Series playoffs surpassing the previous viewership record by more than 50%.

BLAST Titans marks the second battle royale game that the company has created a competition around. Earlier this month, it announced that it had partnered with Epic Games for the Fortnite All-Star Showdown. BLAST VP of Product Nicolas Estrup spoke a bit about this new partnership in an interview with The Esports Observer earlier this week.

Last year, the Counter-Strike-focused organizer expanded into Dota 2 through its BLAST Bounty Hunt event.
