Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has been named as the exclusive cryptocurrency partner of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and PGL Dota 2 Major Arlington 2022.

As a sponsor of both events, Bitget says it will leverage these partnerships to maximise its reach and ‘narrow the gap between crypto and other industries to establish cryptocurrency as a source of investment for all’.

The deal follows on from Bitget’s partnership with PGL Major Stockholm 2021 back in October 2021. According to a release, this marks the firm’s second partnership with the global tournament organiser.

Sandra Lou, CEO of Bitget, spoke on the announcement: “We are pleased to partner with PGL on its CS:GO RMR and Major, following our sponsorship for PGL Major Stockholm 2021 back in October 2021.

“We are always eager to partner with like-minded partners to strengthen our foothold and position in the rapidly evolving crypto space. After our successful partnership late last year, we are confident we will be able to reach new heights with PGL as we continue to achieve dual synergies.”

Established in 2018, Bidget is a cryptocurrency exchange that aims to contribute to the adoption of decentralised finance on a global scale. The company is reportedly committed to providing comprehensive and secure trading solutions and claims to serve more than 2 million customers in 50 countries.

In January, Bitget secured a partnership with the Russian esports organisation Team Spirit.

Silviu Stroie, CEO of PGL, commented: “When establishing partnerships, trustworthiness continues to be one of the biggest priorities for us. We are pleased to be able to once again receive support from Bitget for our upcoming events. We hope that these partnerships will promote the growth of both industries and with a partner like Bitget, reach even higher goals in the years to come.

“We believe that there are strong synergies between both esports and crypto and we are elated to be charging this path with a partner like Bitget.”

Esports Insider says: Considering its goal of ‘narrowing the gap between crypto and other industries’, picking PGL’s major events in CS:GO and Dota 2 to cover the esports segment was a smart choice by Bidget. Moreover, given the company’s interest in the esports sector, more esports partnerships are likely to follow up in the future.
