BAYZ partners with Ignite Tournaments

by Ivan Šimić

NFT gaming guild BAYZ has announced a partnership with Ignite Tournaments, a play-to-earn tournament infrastructure company.

The partnership, which will initially focus on Brazil, sees both parties work together on creating competitive strategies and tournaments going forward.

According to the release, the main goal of the agreement is to expand the Ignite Tournaments network as well as partner with more gaming guilds, publishers, esports teams, sponsors and other players in the mobile esports industry. The partnership will also see BAYZ community members participate in tournaments on the Ignite platform.

The news come a short time after Ignite secured a sizeable investment round to improve its infrastructure and operations in early March 2022. BAYZ also secured a seed investment late in 2021.

BAYZ noted in a release that the ‘only thing missing’ from its repertoire is the ability to create play-to-earn tournaments. This partnership aims to provide just that, according to BAYZ and Ignite.

Ignite Tournaments has cited that the platform’s features allow gaming guilds to engage in tournament organisation. Moreover, the app offers a ‘guild leaderboard system’, providing BAYZ with the ability to track the performance of its members on the platform.

This news follows on from BAYZ appointing Gui Barbosa, formerly of video platform TikTok, as its new Managing Director in February this year.

Esports Insider says: Play-to-earn gaming and esports is definitely on the rise. Although a relatively uncharted area, companies like BAYZ and Ignite are actively trying to build an esports ecosystem in the most popular games of this genre. We’ve yet to see how successful companies focusing on the metaverse and play-to-earn will be in the future.
